UDL Student Advisory Board
The Urban Democracy Lab Student Advisory Board is dedicated to the promotion of ethical, inclusive, and sustainable forms of urbanism. In collaboration with the Director and Associate Director of the Urban Democracy Lab (UDL), the Student Advisory Board thinks critically and productively about pressing urban issues, and through research, field work, and community organizing, employs a unique confluence of academic and political approaches to the various problems facing cities in the 21st century. As the student arm of the UDL, board members assist in UDL programming, including conducting teach-ins throughout the year and contributing to the UDL Blog. Given the UDL’s location at a major research university with a historically contentious relationship with its surrounding urban environment, the Student Advisory Board seeks to create spaces for dialogue about urban issues and practice and to produce resources for both NYU students and the larger community that better enable us to collaborate and address the issues present in urban, democratic environments.
