TODAY: Film Screening Sponsored by the Coalition of Immokalee Workers

TODAY: Friday, Feb. 26 at 4pm at NYU, Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, Rm. 804
The Coalition of Immokalee Workers, along with a variety of NYU student groups, are sponsoring a screening of Food Chains, the hard-hitting documentary that describes the conditions faced historically by farmworkers in the U.S.  It follows one group of tomato pickers from Florida, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), as they successfully partner with consumers, growers, and 14 multi-billion dollar retailers to transform the East Coast agricultural industry through the Fair Food Program — a proven, worker-led solution to abuse in U.S. agriculture.
A representative from the CIW will be at the screening to discuss the film in more detail.
